How to Apply

Here are the steps and tips to apply to AUCDT:

  1. Check the Application Period. Admissions are seasonal (e.g. January intake is noted). It’s important to check the official website or noticeboards to know when applications open.
  2. Decide on the Programme: Choose whether you want a degree, diploma, certificate, or short-course. Also, choose the department (Product Design, Fashion, Jewellery, Digital Media, etc.) based on your interest and prior qualifications.
  3. Meet the Entry Requirements: Make sure your academic qualifications meet what’s needed (see above). If you’re a mature student, ensure you meet age and examination requirements. Gather all necessary documents (school certificates, transcripts, proof of age, etc.).
  4. Complete the Application Form
    • Applications are done online via the AUCDT website. You’ll likely need to fill in personal details, academic history, choice of programme, etc.
    • Some documents to upload might include scanned copies of certificates/transcripts, a recent passport-sized photo, and identification.
  5. Pay Application Fee / Confirm Submission. Once the form is completed and documents uploaded, ensure you pay any required application or processing fee, if applicable. Tips & Things to Know

  • Affiliation & Accreditation: The programmes are affiliated with the University of Education, Winneba, and AUCDT is accredited. This ensures that degrees are recognised.
  • Aggregates / Grades: It’s not just about having passes; the specific aggregate (total of your marks), number of credit passes and relevant electives matter. Always check the most updated cut-offs or requirements.
  • Relevant Electives: For design and technology fields, relevant electives could include Art, Technical Drawing, Visual Arts, Textile Design, Graphic Design, etc. If you’re missing electives, some programmes might not accept you.
  • Mature candidates take an entrance test: This is very important if you are over the maturity age but lack some academic requirements.
  • International students: Equivalence and proof of English may slow down the application, so start early.
